Fractional CO2 Laser

Open pores and Acne scar treatment Open pores is a common problem faced by many people. Main problem is that there are very few treatments that work on it. Lot of treatments like scrubbing and steaming claim to treat open pores but none of them work. The latest and the most advanced treatment for open pores and scars is Fractional CO2 and Microneedle Radiofrequency treatments. These are the only treatment methods that are proven to improve scars and open pores. The CO2 Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Fractional Laser Resurfacing removes layers of skin tissue in a fractionated method (columns of skin are removed, leaving the skin surrounding each column intact to aid in healing) to help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, textural irregularities. It is also the best single treatment for advanced skin damage and wrinkling.

What is Fractional CO2 laser?

This is a treatment method which uses laser energy to remodel scars. Micro beams of laser from computerised pattern generator lead to micro injury to the skin and initiate the healing process.

What kind of results can I expect?

Unfortunately a scar may not go away 100%. But they don’t need to. In most cases fading of the scars is all that you need. Usually 4-5 sessions of Fractional CO2 are required and 50-70% result may be achieved. This is variable and depends on the healing power of the person. It is best to discuss with the dermatologist to understand your condition.

Is there any downtime?

After Fractional CO2 laser treatment, patient needs to avoid sunlight for 3 days. During this time skin will become red and exfoliate. This is normal and settle down after 3 days. You need to apply medicines advised by doctor during this time.

What is the ideal gap between two sessions?

Minimum gap between two sessions is 4-6 weeks. But the benefit of this procedure is that the result achieved by each session is permanent. For your comfort during the treatment, we apply a topical anesthetic.

Microneedle RF

Traditional microneedling uses a special device that creates micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating the body’s own healing response. Collagen and elastin production are initiated, which effectively tightens skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and acne scarring. In some cases, microneedling may include the infusion of platelet rich plasma (PRP) into the created holes, allowing for deeper penetration of nutrients and growth factors for more effective results. RF microneedling adds the element of radiofrequency energy to the traditional microneedling procedure. The RF energy is delivered via small needles. In addition to the benefits seen with the micro-injury provided by the microneedles, RF microneedling also delivers RF energy deep into the dermis further enhancing skin tightening and scar reduction. The RF energy heats the underlying layers, causing constriction and tightening of the skin, as well as the stimulation of collagen and elastin production. Because the RF energy is delivered so deeply, it can produce faster, more dramatic results.

Who is it for?

RF microneedling is appropriate for nearly any skin type and tone. The procedure addresses the following issues:

  • Fine lines and facial wrinkles
  • Scarring from acne and chicken pox
  • Mild to moderate skin laxity
  • Irregular skin texture and tone

Most patients will achieve full results with 4-5 sessions, spaced about four weeks apart. The number of treatments will depend on how well the patient responds to the treatment and the severity of the skin issues to be addressed. Benefits of RF Microneedling RF microneedling can offer similar results to ablative laser procedures, but with significantly less discomfort and downtime. Topical anesthetic is applied prior to treatment to ensure patient comfort throughout the procedure. Treatment usually takes 1 hour, depending on the size of the treatment area.

Skin is typically red for the first day or two after treatment, but the redness is typically mild and much less than is often seen with laser procedures. There is little or no discomfort after the procedure and patients typically are able to return to regular activities within a day. Makeup can be applied 24 hours after the procedure to mask any residual redness.
